Happiness comes when you least expect it, and rarely when you try to make it happen.

Today is Sunday. My son is in his room and enjoying reading his book.  My husband is watching the news in another room.  And I am enjoying a quiet, lazy Sunday morning with my daughter. Not rushing anywhere,  talking about nothing and everything. The smells fill the kitchen — the yummy aroma of coffee and her breakfast (hot, crisp croissant).  As we are enjoying this serene moment, my daughter and I looked at each other and smiled.  I am pretty sure that we had the same thought — pure bliss.  Ahhh, this is what those small moments of happiness feel like.  She shared her latest triumph in gaining more followers on Instagram (this 13 year old kid is a marketing genius), and I just feel so much pride.  It’s so wonderful to feel so close to her, share her joy, her little victories, her laughs. I can’t help but wonder what this girl will be like when she grows up.  And tears fill my eyes.  I am happy.  Happy, because I am lucky to be able to experience this little moment with her.  Happy to be part of it, and happy to carry it in my heart.
